Week 3 - double exposures
Being on holiday in rural Yorkshire while I took the images for this exercise, it was inevitable that most of my work would feature wild flowers and grasses.
In this group, I used double exposure with differential focusing; either to create a stark contrast between the main subject and its background or surroundings (top row) or to create a soft-focus effect (bottom row).
I tried the technique of sharp focus + soft focus expsosures on the ruins of an old abbey:
I also tried a couple combining double exposure with the use of vaseline, rotating the vaseline-covered filter between exposures:
Returning home, I took some double-exposures of dinghy sailing on the lake where I live. In some cases I combined double-exposure with shutter speeds to soften the effect:
